Customer portals
Accept, pay, and sign links that come with Estimates, Invoices, and Contracts—plus how email links and in-person handoff work.
Overview
Bounty CRM includes customer-facing document links for specific workflows: accept an estimate, pay an invoice, sign a contract, and verify a signed contract. These pages are available without a CRM login so your customers can finish commercial steps on web or phone.
Important distinction: these are not a separate self-service Customer Portal product (that product is not available yet). When we say portals in this article, we mean the accept, pay, sign, and verify experiences that already come with Estimates, Invoices, and Contracts.
Do not market document links as a standalone Customer Portal & Online Booking product. They travel with the document modules you already use.
What it allows you to do
- Let customers review and accept estimates online.
- Optionally bundle contract signing into estimate accept when an unsigned contract is linked.
- Let customers pay invoices online (with Payment Processing) including partial payments.
- Collect e-signatures on contracts via the sign link.
- Verify signed contracts later through verify links.
- Send email links for remote completion or use in-person handoff when you are with the customer.
- Complete the same flows on mobile devices in the field.
How it impacts your workflow
Document links remove the PDF-email-print-scan loop that slows closes and collections. Sales conversations can end with “I’ve sent the estimate—tap Accept,” or with a handoff screen on your tablet at the kitchen table. Collections become “here’s your pay link” instead of waiting on mailed checks—especially when partial deposits are expected.
Choosing email link vs handoff is a workflow decision. Email links fit remote customers and asynchronous follow-up. Handoff fits in-person closes: you start from the CRM, the customer completes on a device you present, and you avoid forwarding long URLs over text. Details live in /docs/guides/public-links-handoff.
Partials on pay change deposit culture. Customers can pay what they owe today without you inventing a second invoice for the remainder. The invoice balance remains the source of truth; payments accumulate against it.
Key screens & actions
Accept estimate
Customers open the accept link from an estimate (or its mobile equivalent). They review line items and accept. If an unsigned contract is linked, the experience can steer toward accept-and-sign. After accept, your team converts to job and/or invoice per /docs/guides/estimate-to-invoice.
Pay invoice
Customers open the pay link from an invoice. With Payment Processing, customers pay via Stripe. Partial payments are supported—remaining balance stays on the invoice. Receipts use the contact billing email when available. Without Payment Processing, you still invoice but online card pay will not be available.
Sign & verify
Sign links collect e-signatures for Contracts. Verify links let customers or staff confirm a signed agreement later—useful for “resend what I signed” moments without hunting email archives.
Email links vs handoff tokens
- Prepare the estimate, invoice, or contract in the CRM with correct customer details.
- For remote customers: send the email link and coach them to open it on a modern browser.
- For in-person: start a handoff session and present the device to the customer.
- Customer completes accept, pay (full or partial), or sign.
- Confirm status updates in the CRM; continue to job conversion or payment recording as needed.
- Use verify later if the customer needs proof of a signed contract.

Permissions & plan notes
Document links follow the modules that create the documents:
- Accept estimate — requires Estimates (included on Starter and up).
- Pay invoice online with cards — requires Invoicing (Starter and up) plus Payment Processing (included on Professional and Business, or $25/mo add-on on Starter).
- Sign / verify — require Contracts (included on Professional and Business, or $49/mo add-on on Starter).
- Bundled accept-and-sign — Estimates plus Contracts on your plan.
- A fuller self-service Customer Portal & Online Booking product is not available yet—and is not required for these flows.
Staff permissions still control who can send links, start handoffs, void documents, or record offline payments. Customers completing a link do not receive CRM logins.
Tips & common questions
- Is this a separate Customer Portal product? No—these are document links that come with Estimates, Invoices, and Contracts.
- Partials on pay are intentional; don’t fight the balance—record each payment.
- If a customer forwards a link, treat it like any sensitive payment URL; regenerate if you are unsure.
- Handoff beats shouting a long URL across a noisy job site.
- Test links yourself on a phone before training the whole office.
- Link page errors: note which flow (accept/pay/sign/verify), device, and document, then email customerservice@praevisio.co.
Bounty CRM will keep improving these experiences during alpha. Feature requests for a fuller self-service Customer Portal & Online Booking product are welcome at customerservice@praevisio.co, but that product is not available to purchase today.
