Roles & permissions
Understand what’s in your plan vs what each person’s role allows in Bounty CRM.
Bounty CRM uses two layers to decide what someone can see and do: what’s in your plan (what the company bought) and role permissions (what that user is allowed to do). Both must allow an action.
What’s in your plan (and add-ons)
Your subscription turns whole modules on or off for your company—for example Payment Processing, Mobile Field App, Contracts, or Price Book.
- If your plan doesn’t include Contracts, no role can open Contracts.
- Upgrading the plan or buying an add-on unlocks the module for users whose roles then grant access.
- Managed under Settings → Billing. See /docs/settings/billing.
Role permissions
Roles live under Team. Each role has view/edit (and related) permissions for areas like contacts, jobs, estimates, invoices, and settings. Assign users to roles so office staff, technicians, and admins see different surfaces.
- Owners / admins typically have broad access including Settings and Team.
- Field roles may view/edit jobs and contacts but not billing or integrations.
- Custom roles let you match how your shop actually works—see /docs/features/team.
How to think about a “missing” feature
- Check Billing — Is the module included or purchased? If not, it’s a plan gap.
- Check the user’s role — Do they have permission for that page or action?
- Check device — Some admin tasks (integrations, subscription billing) are web-only even when the module is on your plan.
Menu items can hide when either layer denies access. If two users on the same plan see different menus, compare their roles before changing the subscription.
