Retention
Set how long Bounty CRM keeps each file type before expiration.
Open Settings → Retention to control how long uploaded and generated files are kept. Policies are per file type so you can keep financial and legal artifacts longer than casual job photos or videos.
File types
Each row is a retention policy measured in days (or never expire, depending on the value you set):
- Job photos — Before/after and progress photos on jobs.
- Invoices — Invoice documents and attachments (many businesses keep these for years for accounting).
- Estimates — Estimate documents and attachments.
- Signatures — Digital signatures on documents (often kept indefinitely for legal reasons).
- Documents — General attachments not covered by a more specific type.
- Videos — Video files uploaded to jobs or other records.
How to configure
- Open Settings → Retention in the web CRM.
- For each file type, set the retention period in days (or choose never expire where available).
- Save changes. New uploads follow the updated policies; review warnings if the UI highlights aggressive shortening.
Retention is about stored files and attachments—not about deleting entire contacts, jobs, or invoice records from the CRM database. Align policies with your accountant and local record-keeping rules before shortening invoice or signature retention.
Storage & plans
Shorter photo/video retention can help stay within your plan’s storage allotment. If you need more space, purchase storage blocks under Settings → Billing. See /docs/settings/billing.
