Invoices
Send invoices, Stripe pay links, partial payments, void, record payment, in-person handoff, CSV—and Price Book line items.
Overview
Invoices in Bounty CRM turn completed or agreed work into collectible balances. You create invoices from jobs, estimates, or scratch, send them to customers, and track what has been paid. With Payment Processing enabled, customers can pay online through Stripe pay links. Without card collection, you can still invoice and record payments you took outside the app.
Invoicing supports real contractor realities: partial payments, voids when a document should not stand, in-person handoff when you are collecting on site, and CSV export for bookkeeping workflows. Line items can come from your Price Book catalog when that module is on your plan—speeding consistent pricing across the team.
Pay links are customer-facing document links included with invoicing. They are not a separate Customer Portal product (that product is not available yet).
What it allows you to do
- Create and send professional invoices tied to contacts (and often jobs/estimates).
- Generate PDFs and share pay links when Payment Processing is enabled.
- Accept online payments via Stripe on the pay page.
- Record partial payments and track remaining balance.
- Record offline/in-person payments you collected outside Stripe.
- Void invoices that should no longer be collectible.
- Use in-person handoff for on-site pay flows.
- Export invoice data to CSV for accounting or analysis.
- Add line items from Price Book for consistent catalogs.
How it impacts your workflow
Invoicing is where operational CRM becomes cash. Teams that invoice promptly after job completion improve collection speed; teams that wait for Friday batch entry create accidental financing for customers. Bounty CRM aims to make “job done → invoice sent” a short path—especially when you convert from a job or estimate. Each chain has one invoice slot; any payment locks invoice and linked job line items. Voiding an invoice clears the linked job’s line items. See /docs/guides/document-linking.
Partial payments matter for deposits and progress billing. Instead of inventing side spreadsheets, record each payment against the invoice and keep the balance visible. Voids matter when a duplicate or erroneous invoice went out—voiding preserves history better than silent deletes in most accounting-minded workflows.
Online pay links reduce “I’ll mail a check” delay. In-person handoff covers the opposite case: you are with the customer and want them to pay on a device you control without digging through email. Both paths are covered in /docs/guides/public-links-handoff.
Key screens & actions
Web: Open Billing from the main menu, then Invoices. Mobile: Billing tab for field collection and review. Public: customers open the pay link from their email or handoff session.
Create, send, PDF
- Create an invoice from Billing, from a job conversion, or from an estimate conversion.
- Build line items; use Price Book when available.
- Send to the customer billing email; attach or download PDF as needed.
- Confirm status after send so office knows what is outstanding.
Payments, partials, void
- Stripe pay links (Payment Processing) let customers pay online; partials update remaining balance.
- Record payment for cash/check/other channels you collected manually.
- Void when the invoice should not remain open—follow your internal policy for replacements.
- Watch activity and receipts so confirmation emails go to the right contact address.
Handoff & export
- Create or open the invoice and verify totals and customer details.
- Send email pay link—or start an in-person handoff session on site.
- Customer pays in full or partially on the pay page (when Payment Processing is on).
- Record any offline payment amounts you collected separately.
- Export CSV when your bookkeeper needs a batch snapshot.
- Void and re-issue only when your process requires a clean replacement document.

Permissions & plan notes
Invoicing is included on Starter ($49), Professional ($129), and Business ($249). Online Stripe collection requires Payment Processing—included on Professional and Business, or $25/mo add-on on Starter.
- You can invoice on Starter without Payment Processing; record payments manually.
- Price Book is included on Professional and Business, or $49 add-on on Starter.
- Role permissions control who can void, send, or record payments—treat void carefully.
- QuickBooks accounting sync is planned (coming soon in Integrations)—it is not available yet.
Tips & common questions
- Prefer converting from jobs/estimates so customer and line items stay consistent.
- Partials are normal—don’t create a second invoice just to track a deposit if one invoice with payments will do.
- Keep the billing email accurate on the contact; receipts and pay links depend on it.
- Handoff is ideal for COD-style finishes; email links for remote billing.
- CSV export is a snapshot—reconcile dates before importing elsewhere.
- Payment failed on Stripe? Check Payment Processing connection in Settings, then contact customerservice@praevisio.co with the invoice details and approximate time.
Card processing fees and Stripe account status are governed by your Stripe connection and plan. Bounty CRM shows payment state; Stripe processes payments for online charges.
