Estimate to invoice
Turn an approved estimate into an invoice and collect payment in Bounty CRM.
Most service jobs start with a quote. This guide covers creating an estimate, getting customer acceptance, converting to an invoice, and collecting payment.
- Create or open a contact — Make sure the customer has a usable email. See /docs/features/contacts.
- Create an estimate — From Billing → Estimates, add line items (manually or from the Price Book), taxes/discounts as needed, and save. See /docs/features/estimates.
- Send for acceptance — Email the estimate so the customer receives a public accept link. Or use in-person handoff—see /docs/guides/public-links-handoff.
- Customer accepts — When they accept on the accept page, the estimate status updates and your team can be notified (if staff alerts are configured).
- Convert to invoice — Create an invoice from the accepted estimate (or from related job/billing actions). Confirm amounts, terms, and due date.
- Send and collect — Send the invoice. With Stripe connected (Payment Processing), the customer can pay on the public pay link. Record offline payments in the CRM when money is collected elsewhere.
You can also create invoices without an estimate when work is already scoped. Linking estimates → invoices keeps history clean for follow-ups and reporting later. See /docs/guides/document-linking for how the 1:1 chain, slots, and locks work.
Tips
- Set company logo (Company) and invoice defaults (App Settings) first so PDFs look right—/docs/settings/company and /docs/settings/app.
- Professional / Business (or Payment Processing add-on) is required for online card/ACH collection.
- For contracts that sit alongside estimates, see /docs/features/contracts.
