Jobs & Dispatch
Schedule day/week/month/list, distinguish jobs vs events, assign techs, send reminders, and convert estimate→job and job→invoice.
Overview
Jobs & Dispatch is the operational heart of Bounty CRM. It is where work gets a time, a place, and a technician. The schedule supports day, week, month, and list views so office staff can plan density while field leads can scan “what’s mine today.”
Jobs are customer work you intend to perform and usually bill for. Events are schedule items that are not the same as a billable customer job—internal meetings, holds, or other calendar needs depending on how your team uses them. Keeping that distinction clear prevents dispatch from treating every calendar block as revenue work.
Jobs connect upstream to estimates (convert estimate → job) and downstream to invoices (convert job → invoice), so the path from sold work to collected cash stays linked. Each chain holds one job, one estimate, one invoice, and one contract—see /docs/guides/document-linking. See /docs/guides/estimate-to-invoice for the full money path.
What it allows you to do
- Schedule work on day, week, month, and list views.
- Create jobs tied to contacts (and optionally projects).
- Distinguish jobs from events on the same calendar.
- Assign technicians and see coverage at a glance.
- Send email reminders so customers know when you are coming.
- Convert an accepted estimate into a job, then convert completed work into an invoice.
- Filter the board (including by project) when planning dense weeks.
How it impacts your workflow
Dispatch without a shared schedule becomes phone tag and whiteboards. Jobs & Dispatch gives the office a single board and the field a consistent destination for “where next.” Morning huddles move from “what do we think we have?” to “what does the week view show, and who still needs a technician?”
Assignment is separate from status. Jobs move through draft → scheduled → in progress → incomplete or completed based on schedule and payment. Assigning a technician does not change status. Email reminders reduce no-shows—especially when combined with clear job times and contact preferences.
Conversion habits matter too. Teams that create jobs from estimates keep scope and customer linkage intact. Teams that invoice from jobs preserve what was actually performed. Skipping those conversions often means retyping line items and losing the audit trail that makes disputes easier to resolve.
Key screens & actions
Web: Open Jobs from the main menu and switch between day, week, month, and list views. Mobile: Jobs tab in the bottom nav for field-first access. Calendar colors can reflect assignees so week/month views stay readable.
Schedule views
- Day — dense dispatch for today; best for last-mile assignment changes.
- Week — planning horizon for capacity and multi-day jobs.
- Month — longer outlook for installs and seasonal load.
- List — searchable/filterable rows when you are not thinking in calendar geometry.
Jobs vs events
Use jobs for customer work with a contact, scope, and likely billing outcome. Use events for schedule needs that should not be confused with dispatchable revenue work. If your team is unsure, default new customer visits to jobs.
Assignment & reminders
- Assign one or more technicians based on how your crew runs calls.
- Filter for jobs with no technician as a standing triage queue.
- Statuses follow the schedule: draft (no date), scheduled, in progress, incomplete after end (unless paid/completed), then completed. Rescheduled is a terminal outcome when you move work to a new job—see Reschedule below.
- Send email reminders according to your notification setup and contact preferences.
- SMS reminders are coming later—not available for MVP.
Reschedule
When visit times change in a way that should start fresh—new appointment, same scope—use Reschedule instead of editing dates in place. Reschedule creates a new job on the updated schedule and marks the original Rescheduled (greyed/strikethrough on calendars and lists). Attached estimate, invoice, and contract move to the new job; the rescheduled job no longer shows them and cannot receive new document links. Photos and notes move too.
- Web — open a job, use the … menu on the job details dialog, choose Reschedule, pick new visit times, then confirm.
- Mobile — open a job, tap the overflow actions FAB, choose Reschedule, pick new start/end times in the sheet, then confirm.
- Optional — check Remove original from calendar to hide the rescheduled job from week/month views while keeping it in job lists for history.
- Go to rescheduled job — from either job, open the replacement (web dialog swap or mobile job page) via the banner or overflow menu.
Document chain rules during reschedule are described in /docs/guides/document-linking.
Conversions

- Perform and update the job through completion on web or mobile.
- Convert job → invoice so billing reflects the work that was done.
- Send the invoice or use pay/handoff flows as described in /docs/features/invoices.

Permissions & plan notes
Jobs & Dispatch is included on Starter ($49), Professional ($129), and Business ($249). It is not sold as a standalone add-on. Plan capacity differs: Starter includes fewer seats and jobs/month than Professional; Business raises caps again while keeping the same module set as Professional.
- Role permissions control who can create, edit, assign, and complete jobs.
- Mobile field app access is Professional/Business (or Starter + mobile add-on).
- File storage on Professional and Business supports job photos and attachments.
- Customer notifications today are email-based; SMS is coming later.
Tips & common questions
- Jobs with no technician are a triage list—filter by Unassigned assignee, not a status.
- Prefer converting from estimates over recreating jobs from scratch.
- Week view for planning, day view for chaos control after 7 a.m.
- If a job belongs to a larger remodel, attach a project so filters work later.
- Reminders only help if contact email prefs and SendGrid are correct.
- Calendar colors confusing across techs? Set assignee colors in schedule settings. Need help: customerservice@praevisio.co.
Bounty CRM jobs are operational records, not QuickBooks jobs. QuickBooks accounting sync is planned and not connected yet; the CRM job remains the dispatch source of truth.
